Information Memo

  • Effective August 1, 2017, Cigna-HealthSpring will no longer be part of Illinois Managed Care Integrated Care Program (ICP) in the Greater Chicago region. The Greater Chicago counties affected are Cook, Lake, Kane, DuPage, and Will.
  • The State will disenroll Cigna-HealthSpring ICP members and will enroll the member into a new ICP health plan effective August 1, 2017.  To the extent possible, HFS looked at each member's existing relationships with providers when determining each member's new plan.  Persons with questions about the transition process should call Cigna-HealthSpring Customer Service at 1-866-487-4331 (TTY users may call 7-1-1), Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. up through July 31, 2017.
  • Persons will receive a new ICP health plan Member ID card from their new health plan.  They should use their new ICP health plan's Member ID Card for health care services and prescription drug coverage beginning August 1, 2017.
  • Persons who were enrolled in Cigna-HealthSpring may not be able to keep the same medical providers. If any of their providers are not in their new ICP health plan's network, their new ICP health plan will help them find new providers.  Persons needing help in finding a provider should contact their new ICP health plan.
