Step 2:

If you don't currently receive our monthly "all things housing" newsletter please Sign up for Heads up on Housing: This email list provides information about housing resources, education and training opportunities, plus general housing information in the State of Illinois. If you would like to be added to this list because of your support of Williams, Ligas or Colbert class members, Money Follows the Person participants or people moving from State Operated Developmental Centers (SODCs) or because of your work with people experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness or with disabilities who need affordable supportive housing, simply email Alexis DeWeese at alexis.deweese@illinois.gov and ask to be signed up today.

Step 3:

Complete the attached user agreement and fax it to 1.866.265.7811 or scan and email to: susan@socialserve.com. After it is completed and submitted, you will receive a call from Susan Woodyard from Social Serve (ILHousingSearch.org software vendor) Community Relations Manager.  She will get you set-up with a username and password and answer any questions you may have about the system.

You should have your client sign a general agency release form that allows information to be shared with the State of Illinois PAIR Online Waiting List.

Step 4:

Review Important Documents:

The Statewide Referral Network, Section 811 and You PowerPoint slides (entitled Section 811-PAIR Training FINAL) that were presented during the Webinar.

The ILHousingSearch.org User Agreement which must be read, signed and returned in order to receive a username and password for the Caseworker Portal (details below).

An IL PAIR Caseworker Portal User Guide which provides a full review of the ILHousingSearch.org Caseworker Portal, including step by step information beginning on page 16 about Managing Wait List Clients (using the PAIR online waiting list).

An Presumptive Release PAIR document which shows you the language giving information release permission when you choose to continue the application process after the initial pre-screening. You should have your client sign a general agency release form that allows information to be shared with the State of Illinois PAIR Online Waiting List.

And a document that walks you through finding the Area Median Income (AMI) in your community. The PAIR online waiting list tool will automatically calculate whether or not your client is financially eligible using the income data that you enter at pre-screening.
