Summary:

This release provides notice of the increase in the Family Maintenance Needs Allowance (FMNA). The FMNA applies to family members of persons who are eligible for Aid to Aged, Blind and Disabled (AABD) and receive Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS).  LTSS includes nursing homes (NH), supportive living programs (SLP) and persons applying for or receiving services through the Department on Aging (DoA) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver.


Effective 01/01/17, the Family Maintenance Needs Allowance (FMNA) increases to $2,030.00. The new FMNA is based on the increase in the 2017 Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

For active cases, use the new FMNA no later than the next scheduled redetermination (REDE).
