DENTAL EMERGENCY PROCEDURE - §1302.47(b)(7)

If there is major bleeding or other injuries, call 911.

If a tooth is knocked out but still intact, don't rinse it unless it has collected dirt or sand - then rinse quickly with warm water. Put the tooth into a glass of warm milk or water.

If the tooth is broken off, have the child gently bite a gauze pad.

If there is minor bleeding, apply gentle pressure to the area.

Take the parent's Permission for Emergency Treatment form and transport the child to ____________________________.

Besides the driver, a staff-member who is able to interpret should accompany the child. Coordinators who stay at the center immediately contact the parents and offer to drive them to the _______________________________________________. The coordinator also calls the office to tell them the child is on his way there, and to give information.
