ICED 2016 Awards Ceremony

ICED 2016 Awards Ceremony, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for May 11, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at the Illinois State Library, 300 S. Second Street in Springfield. Governor Rauner will open the ceremony and present some of the awards to state agencies for hiring people with disabilities in 2015. ICED Co-Chairs Rocco J. Claps and James Dimas, will serve as Masters of Ceremony for the event. This year, for the first time, Constitutional Members, including the Lieutenant Governor, and the State Treasurer who have joined the Committee as a result of new legislation, will participate in the event. State Treasurer Michael Frerichs will be honored for his employment of interns with disabilities. Special features of the ceremony this year include a performance by the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired choir and a tour of the State Library talking book program.
