Change the code 176 reason to 99 when the client appeals the sanction action by the date of change on the Notice of Change - Sanction (Form 157P/PC). The system removes the code 512 and restores benefits for the same month. If necessary, issue lost benefits. Code 176 remains on the case during the appeal process.
If the sanction action is upheld or the appeal is dismissed, reenter the code 176 using TA 31/TAR 43, the current effective month for the DATE, and the original reason code and level. Withhold the central notice. The appeal decision is the only notice required.
If the sanction action is reversed, repeal the sanction (see WAG 03-13-04-c-3).
