Introduction

Due to the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) 1.7% cost of living increase effective January 2015, we are increasing the Grant Adjustment rate and the Sheltered, Personal, and Nursing Care rates.

Grant Adjustment Increase - AABD Cash

Beginning March 2015, the Grant Adjustment allowance is increased by $12.00 to $554.90. This allows the SSI increase to be passed on to the AABD Cash customers without reducing their AABD benefit amount. Use the new Grant Adjustment for all AABD Cash cases approved on or after 01/27/15. The system will centrally change all cases on the regular rolls for March 2015 the night of 01/27/15, as part of the monthly central budgeting process.

Sheltered, Personal and Nursing Care Rate Increase

The rates for individuals living in a sheltered care facility or who receive personal or nursing care in homes not subject to licensing is increased by $12.00 beginning March 2015. The Sheltered, Personal and Nursing Care rates are based on a point count which is determined by individual care needs, and on county of residence.

AABD Cash

For AABD Cash cases approved after 01/27/15, use the new Sheltered, Personal, or Nursing Care rates. The system will centrally change all cases on the regular rolls for March 2015 the night of 01/27/15, as part of the monthly central budgeting process.

AABD Medical

For AABD Medical customers receiving sheltered care, or personal or nursing care in a home not subject to licensing, use the increased rates as follows:

  • At Intake, for all determinations made for March 2015 or later.
  • For active cases, at the next redetermination of eligibility, whenever income or resources are recalculated, or whenever medical expenses are presented to meet spenddown for March 2015 or later.
