09/01/14 Summary:

  • The AABD cash and medical exemption for an irrevocable prepaid burial contract funded by trust is adjusted annually for any increase in the Consumer Price Index.
  • The exemption is increased from $6,153 to $6,171 effective 09/01/14.

Effective 10/20/14, the prepaid burial exemption for an irrevocable prepaid burial contract funded by a trust will increase to $6,171.00

Use the increased $6,171 irrevocable prepaid burial fund exemption:

  • for all AABD cash and medical application decisions made on or after 09/01/14; and
  • for all AABD cash and medical resource determinations on case reviews and redeterminations completed on or after 09/01/14.
