April 28, 2014
As you may know, President Obama signed into law on Thursday, April 3, 2014, H.R. 4302, which includes a delay in the implementation of ICD-10 for a year. Under the new rules, providers will not be required to adopt ICD-10 until at least October 1, 2015. DHS/DMH is aware that some providers have been preparing for the transition to ICD-10, as well as to DSM-5, and training staff to use both of these diagnostic taxonomies. With the delay in ICD-10 implementation, DHS/DMH is considering the best course of action related to DSM-5 implementation.
We invite you to provide us with feedback with regard to your planning around implementation which we will use to inform our decision-making. Please use the link below to complete our survey by Monday, May5th.
