The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Rehabilitation Services (DHS/DRS) is now using an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) System for the services you provide through the Home Services Program (HSP). EVV is a timekeeping system that requires your use of the customer's telephone to "call in" and record the time that you start and stop working for your customer.
EVV is required by Illinois law for anyone providing in-home services to customers in the Home Services Program. EVV will help ensure that our HSP customers are receiving the proper services. Whether you work directly for a customer or provide services through an agency, you will be required to participate in the EVV program.
EVV is free to you and all HSP customers, and will not change anything about the services that you provide. The EVV system will provide you with new resources that allow you to view the hours that you have worked for HSP customers and your paycheck for each pay period online.
It is very important that you call one of the toll-free EVV phone numbers from the customer's phone at the beginning and end of each visit. If the HSP customer that you provide services to does not have a telephone, they should contact their HSP office to receive information on how to obtain one.
