MR #11.08: TANF Self-Employment Hours & Subsidized Employment

Summary:

  • To determine the number of hours counted for self-employment, divide self-employment income by the current federal minimum wage. Use actual hours worked if the person is employed as a child care provider, and is paid at or near to the Department child care rate.
  • Questions are added to ACM and AIS to determine type of self-employment.
  • In IPACS, Enter 'M' or 'A' in the NO. column of Item 90 Code 801 to indicate if hours are to be calculated using the minimum wage formula, or actual hours are being used.
  • A question is added to ACM and AIS to identify subsidized employment for reporting purposes. In IPACS, enter 'S' in the NO. column of Item 90 Code 802 to identify subsidized income.
