IDHS: MR #09.30: The Food Stamp Program is renamed the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 changed the name of the Food Stamp Program to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

References to the Food Stamp Program, including FS, are updated in the Introduction and Chapter 01 of the Online Manual with this release.

Forms will be updated when they come up for revision or as manual references are updated.

System references in AIS, ACM, IPACS, Internet, and OneNet will be changed ongoing.
