MR #08.33: Initiation of Child Support Reconciliation

Summary:

  • Custodial parents who apply for TANF, AABD Cash, AABD Medical, or All Kids/FamilyCare Assist with income up to the Family Health Spenddown Standard for a child are required to participate with Child Support Enforcement (CSE) unless they can show good cause for not cooperating.
  • The Form 1611 (Notice of Failure to Cooperate) posted in Mobius is the official notice of record when a custodial parent fails to cooperate.
  • As soon as Mobius Form 1611 is received, immediately begin the reconciliation process by sending Form 2846 (Reconciliation Appointment Notice) to a client who is subject to penalty or sanction for noncooperation.
  • If Form 2846 is not mailed within 45 calendar days from the date Form 1611 is posted in Mobius, the action is not timely and is out of compliance.
  • The case record must contain signed documentation assigning rights to child support and medical support payments to the State.
