What CAP Services are Available?

CAP can...

  • Advise people with disabilities of their rights under the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and customers and applicants of the Vocational Rehabilitation and the Centers for Independent Living.
  • Identify problems and help find solutions between customers and DRS staff.
  • Advise and interpret agency policies, rules, and procedures to customers as they relate to the individual's rehabilitation choices.
  • Advocate for and represent customers in the appeal process.
  • Recognize service delivery problems and recommend positive changes in the rehabilitation program rules and policies.
  • Provide outreach to individuals and groups representing individuals with disabilities from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds.
  • Explain the nature of the various services available to people with a wide range of disabilities from the different state agency rehabilitation programs.
  • Refer people with non-rehabilitation needs to other appropriate resources.
