MR #07.26: Elimination of The Exceptional Care Program

Summary:

• Effective January 1, 2007, HFS implemented new procedures to calculate the nursing component of the nursing facility Medicaid rate based on a federally required nursing home resident assessment called "Minimum Data Set" (MDS).
• As part of this MDS-based reimbursement methodology, the Exceptional Care Program has been repealed.
