MR #07.13: Web Application for Food Stamps, Cash and Medical

Summary:

  • Applicants with an Illinois address may file a DHS Web Application from wherever they have access to the internet.
  • The DHS Web application is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • The applicant may submit the application with only a name and address.

  • If the applicant fails to return the signature pages, deny the cash or medical benefit application using TAR E3.
  • Based on their responses, applicants are told what verifications are required to complete the application process and what office the application was sent to. After reviewing the web application in caseworker tools and any other information available to them, the worker may modify the list of required verifications when they issue the Form 267 or 1721.
  • The web application is electronically submitted to the FCRC for processing.
  • Allows applicant to monitor application status.
  • The application is electronically stored in Caseworker Tools and the data is sent to AIS.
  • HSC and Managers view applications and pending verifications in Caseworker Tools (CWT).
  • FCRC staff issue Form 267/1721 from Caseworker Tools.
  • New TAR E6 is used to deny an application if an applicant is already receiving benefits. TAR E6 is not limited to only web applications.
