MR #07.09: Elimination of Family Accountability Policy

Summary:

Due to state law, Family Accountability Policy is eliminated effective 07/01/07.
TANF payment levels will no longer be capped due to a child born under Family Accountability Policy.
Item 78 codes which indicate a child born under Family Accountability Policy are obsolete for all categories as of 06/12/07. Item 78 codes will be centrally converted the night of 06/12/07.
The TANF payment level will be centrally recomputed at the time of Item 78 conversion. Appropriate notices will be sent if a cash increase causes a decrease in the food stamp amount.
CN 07.12 'Notice - Elimination of TANF Family Accountability (Capping) Policy' (pdf) will be sent at the time of conversion to active Category 04/06 cases which have a child no longer subject to capping policy.
WAG 27-78-00 is updated with revisions to Item 78 included in Policy Memo 'Changes in Item 78 Codes - Changes in Item 80 Countable Income Codes - KC Assist and KCMAB' dated 11/10/04.
