WAG 06-19-03: TSNAP Benefit Amount

  • new manual textIES systematically determines the benefit amount and issues the same amount for 5 consecutive months. The benefit amount is calculated using the household size, income, and expense deductions that are present on the TANF EDG and SNAP EDG the month prior to the month that the cash benefit is canceled:
    • minus the TANF grant amount; and
    • any newly reported income that caused the household to be ineligible for TANF; and
    • is adjusted for any member who left the home.

  •  new manual textIES recalculates the benefit amount when there is a reduction in the household size during the 5-month period. If a request is received to add a new member during the 5- month period, the household must file a new SNAP application.
