WAG 06-19-02: Five Month Approval Period

• IES sends Notice of Change (IL444-0360C) to the household notifying them of the TANF closure and the approval of TSNAP benefits.
• The notice informs the household of the TSNAP approval period, the benefit amount, and that changes are not required to be reported during the 5-month period, but if a change is reported:
  • The only reported change that will result in a decrease in TSNAP benefits is if a member leaves the household; and  
  • If a change occurs that may result in an increase in benefits, such as a decrease in income or an increase in expenses or household size, they may reapply at any time under regular SNAP rules; and
  • If the household reapplies and is approved for TANF, TSNAP benefits are canceled and a SNAP REDE is required; and
  • Prior to end of the TSNAP period, an IL444-1893 will be sent to the household informing them to reapply for SNAP under regular program rules.

Note: Change Reporting and Mid-Point Reporting Requirements do not apply to TSNAP households.
