Keep the boxes of Link Cards and boxes or envelopes of PIN Packets sealed and in a locked area until needed for issuance. Release only the number expected to be issued for the day. Secure unused cards and packets at the end of the work day.
Link Card Storage
Group sequentially numbered (19 digits) Link Cards in bundles of 20 to coincide with the 20 Personal Account Numbers (PAN's) listed on each packing sheet included with the card shipment. The packing sheet, which is titled 'Card and PIN/PCN Issuance' (pdf) is also known as the 'card log' and is used to document card issuances. (See WAG 22-01-01-b) Secure bundled cards with a rubber band and store in a locked area until needed.
At the beginning of the business day, and as needed during the day, authorized FCRC staff retrieve the lowest numbered partial or complete card bundle, and related card log from the locked area.
PIN Packet Storage
Group sequentially numbered (8 digits) PIN Packets in bundles of 20 to coincide with the 20 PIN Control Numbers (PCN's) listed on each packing sheet included with the PIN Packet shipment. The packing sheet, which is titled PIN Packet log sheet (pdf) is also known as the 'PIN Pack log'. It is used to document PIN Packet issuances.
