MR #06.6: Increase in Air Conditioning-Heating Standard & Limited Utility Standard

Summary:

Due to the high cost of natural gas, Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) has approved an increase in the Air Conditioning/Heating Standard and the Limited Utility Standard. 

• The Air Conditioning/Heating Standard is increased to $299.
• The Limited Utility Standard is increased to $165.
• ACM and AIS calculations will reflect the increased utility standard amounts for April food stamp issuances on 03/14/06.
• System changes to the FS Web Calculator and the expedited questions in AIS are effective 04/03/06.
• April benefits will be centrally adjusted for active cases.
• The Program Standards chart WAG 25-03-02 (pdf) is revised with the new utility standard amounts.
