joint processing

Social Security Administration (SSA) offices accept applications from people who want to apply for SNAP benefits when everyone applying together receives or is applying for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The applicant(s) must not: already receive SNAP; have applied for SNAP in the past 30 days; and have a pending SNAP application. This is called joint processing. For joint processing applications, the application date is the date the SSA office received the SNAP application.

joint tenancy

Property held by 2 or more persons under which, as each tenant dies, their interest passes to the survivor(s). Ultimately the property is owned by the last survivor.

judgment

An official decision made by a court.
