WAG 23-09-02-d: Filing a Claim

PM 23-09-02-d.

  1. (BOC) Completes the claim filing process after Form 187 is received.
  2. (BOC) Determines the amount of assistance subject to a claim.
  3. (BOC) Contacts heirs to see if the heirs prefer to open the estate or make voluntary settlement of the amount due.
  4. (BOC) Files Estate Claim Against the Decedent (Form 129A) with the County Circuit Clerk, Probate Division, when the will of a former client or a former client's spouse is admitted to probate or letters of administration are issued.
  5. (BOC) Decides necessary actions when there are no heirs or the heirs refuse to open the estate.
