WAG 28-02-00: Local Warrant Unit (LWU) Responsibilities

LWU processes Illinois Link benefit and check actions requested by the caseworker (CW) in the Family Community Resource Center (FCRC). These actions are further processed by the Warrant Control Unit (WCU) or by DPA's WCU (HFS WCU) depending on the type of check involved.

The LWU processes:

• replacement actions on lost and stolen checks;
• actions to void or redirect benefits;
• checks received in the FCRC;
• benefit replacement actions; and
• escheated checks.
