WAG 22-12-03: Voter Registration by Telephone

Voter Registration Process through the Helpline

(Helpline Staff) When a customer reports a change of address, ask the customer if they want to apply to register to vote.  If they want to register to vote, refer the request to the FCRC on the Referral or Reported Changes form.

(FCRC Staff) When a request for an application to register to vote is received from the Helpline, send the SBE R-19, Illinois Voter Registration Application to the customer.

Voter Registration Process through Telephone Redeterminations or Change of Address

(Service Coordination) When completing a telephone redetermination or a customer reports a change of address by telephone, ask the customer if they want to apply to register to vote.  If they want to register to vote, send SBE R-19, Illinois Voter Registration Application to the customer.

Note: The SBE R-19 should not be held until the case is processed but submitted to the office liaison when received.

When Voter Registration Application is Received

(Service Coordination) When SBE R-19 is received in the office, forward the original SBE R-19, Illinois Voter Registration Application to the Office Liaison. See WAG 22-12-01 for duties of the Office Liaison.
