PM 22-11-02-a: Providing Interpreter Within "Reasonable Time"

WAG 22-11-02-a.

Within one hour of determining that a person needs interpreter services, determine whether that service can be provided within a reasonable time that day.

Reasonable time means that a person will not have to wait longer than other persons applying for or currently receiving benefits.

If bilingual services cannot be provided within a reasonable time that day, provide the person with an appointment when the services will be available. All timeframes are established starting with the first day of contact. SLUs are not penalized because the appointment has to be rescheduled.
