Spanish Language Units (SLU) are those where the adult members speak only Spanish or the unit does not contain a person age 18 or over who can speak or read English.
Federal law requires that DHS provides Spanish materials to SLUs. DHS must also provide someone to translate when they apply for SNAP or file an appeal, if a translator is needed.
