Rapid Re-Housing Program (RRH)

What is the purpose of this program?

The Rapid Re-Housing Program, (RRH) is permanent housing that provides short-term (up to three months) and medium-term (4-24 months) tenant-based rental assistance and supportive services to households experiencing homelessness.

People who are currently homeless can receive services

  • Counseling Services
  • Domestic Violence Services
  • Education
  • Transportation
  • Employment Services
  • Other services deemed necessary for the resident to sustain their housing such as; Healthcare related services, disability related services, legal and more.

Program Participant Eligibility Requirements

Program participants must be selected through the local Continuum's of Care (CoC's) established processes for evaluating and prioritizing households for rapid re-housing as is required by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD.)

States are required to have specific statutory authority to provide public benefits, including housing, to certain non-citizens. This program is only able to serve non-citizens who meet the definition of "qualified alien" under 8 USC 1641.
