SUBJECT: Illinois WIC Vendor Notice 25-01 - Authorized Food List Changes

DATE: February 6, 2025

We are pleased to announce that the new 2025 WIC Authorized Food List has been finalized and is attached to this email. The updated Authorized Food List will also be available on our website in the coming weeks. The Authorized Product List (APL) is being updated to reflect these changes.

  • Please replace all copies of the Authorized Food List (eff. February 2024) in your store with the new WIC Authorized Food List (effective February 2025) at each register that accepts WIC transactions and train your cashiers and store personnel on the latest food list and its items.
    • If you cannot print the new WIC Authorized Food List, please contact the WIC Vendor Relations Unit to request the number of copies you need and specify whether you require them in English or Spanish.
  • Ensure that WIC shelf or custom labels are updated to reflect new items added and items removed from the list of WIC-eligible products. This will help avoid customer confusion.

The table below summarizes the significant changes in the Illinois Authorized Food List, which will take effect in February 2025. Remember to SCAN the item when in doubt and let the POS system assist you.
