In Observance of Labor Day:

September 1, 2025

Labor Day is a national tribute to the contributions of American workers; a tradition rooted in the late 19th century to appreciate the essential role of labor in building the nation's prosperity and well-being.

At Division of Developmental Disabilities, we honor the professionals who support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) across the State of Illinois. Many of these workers are providing critical care and continuous services every day, including holidays. Their work reflects the values of dignity, commitment, and community that Labor Day represents.

The Division also takes this opportunity to recognize the importance of meaningful employment for individuals with I/DD. Everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute, earn, and be valued in the workplace. Expanding inclusive employment remains a vital part of building a stronger, more equitable Illinois.

Thank you to all who support this mission and the people behind it.
