Introduction to RNT Communication: Welcome!
Hello RN Trainers! Thank you for signing up for the DDD Communications list specifically for RN Trainers.
This communication will be sent in an effort to foster relationship and connection between the RN Trainer community and the Division.
Things you will see in RNT Communication may include a summary of DDD Communications from the previous months that pertain to medical services, answers to Frequently Asked Questions, tips, training, and relevant news.

- Nomination: Please email DDD the following details:
- Agency name
- Work Location (name only)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ): For Rule 116
Question: What to include on the MAR for a PRN medication?
- Answer:
- PRN medication instructions need to be specific and give the reason for use (cannot just state allergies).
- If using for fever, must identify the temperature reading (for example: fever of 100.4°F or above).
- PRN medications must include a maximum dose.
- PRN medications must also include and specific frequency (example every 8 hours).
- PRN medications must be available to give within the hour if needed.
Question: What are some CSCS commonly cited issues?
- Answer:
- When signing for controlled substances, ADSPs, need to make sure they include their ADSP titles.
- Times on the controlled substance count sheet need to be specific (no rounding).
- The RN trainer needs to sign and date the CSCS twice; at the beginning and end of the month.

- Description: Stories are transformative tools that not only connect and inspire but also educate both those who support individuals with ID/DD and the individuals themselves. Everyone has a unique story, and with the right support, individuals can share their experiences with confidence and authenticity.
This session delves into a person-centered approach to storytelling, showing how sharing personal narratives can shift perspectives and cultivate empathy. Participants will learn practical strategies to create spaces that are safe, inclusive, and empowering, where individuals feel valued and truly heard.
