NATIONAL ABLE SAVINGS DAY
August 14, 2025 is National ABLE Savings Day! The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is taking this time to recognize the important role ABLE accounts play in helping people with disabilities save for the future without affecting their eligibility for vital supports. In Illinois, ABLE accounts have been especially meaningful for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These accounts offer a safe and flexible way to save for a wide range of qualified expenses-from assistive technology to education, housing, and more. They help individuals preserve assets while maintaining access to programs like Medicaid and SSI.
To learn more about Illinois ABLE, visit their website. An informational and educational webinar entitled "Build Your ABLE Life with an IL ABLE Account" will be presented virtually on August 14, 2025 at 12 noon Central Time. Learn more and register for this webinar here: Illinois ABLE registration - Webex
CILA RATE SHEET MAILING
August 15, 2025 - The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) will mail out rate sheets and turnaround forms. These rate sheets will be current as of July 01, 2025, including updated Inventory for Client and Agency Planning (ICAP) and Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) scores. Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) providers will receive rate sheets and turnaround forms for individuals in 24-hour CILA, Individual CILA, and Host Family CILA.
RESOURCE MAP PROJECT
This map is designed to help Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) disabled people and allies in the Chicagoland area find inclusive, culturally affirming, and disability-friendly resources.
