PM 19-03-03: SNAP REDE Process

WAG 19-03-03.

  • A SNAP REDE involves:
  • completing a REDE application,
  • conducting an interview,
  • a review of eligibility; and
  • the SNAP household's cooperation.
  • For SNAP households containing a member who is employed, schedule a phone interview instead of a face-to-face interview at the Family Community Resource Center unless the SNAP household requests a face-to-face interview. If the SNAP household requests a face-to-face interview conduct one.
  • See PM 19-07-04 for the REDE process on Mid-Point Reporting households (see PM 19-07-01).
  • If a SNAP household files a timely SNAP REDE application, provide benefits for the new approval period by the household's usual mailing date. Do not extend the approval period without a new application or request.
  • For changes reported at the SNAP REDE, make the change starting with the first month of the new approval period, except for a reported addition to the household.
  • If the SNAP and Cash Redetermination Application and Medical Renewal is only received with a name, address and signature, register the application for SNAP. The SNAP and Cash Redetermination Application and Medical Renewal must still be completed by the customer before the application can be processed.
