Bi-Monthly Update on OIG Operations
- Hiring continues for OIG- 89 staff members
- 18 hired this year, 37 pending positions, 28 investigators to hire, 51 on staff at OIG, and looking to hire a training investigator
- Ongoing challenge - staffing, training, and discussion has been had to potentially hire an investigative trainer to set OIG investigators up for success
- Administrative leave- complaints persist regarding employees placed on administrative leave
- OIG is now responsible for community investigations
Administrative Matters
* Tonya Piephoff attended the meeting to provide updates and answer questions regarding things happening at the SODC level
Stated that cameras don't remove the abuse of individuals (abusers are abusers and will always find a way to abuse)
Addressed the delay of reporting is an issue, employees who are found not to be reporting incidents are referred to the disciplinary committee
74 individuals transitioned out of SODC facilities
296 internal cameras in the living area at Choate, 39 outside cameras
Cameras at Fox are wired
Kiley's cameras are in the process of being wired, cameras are secure
Mabley is hosting a transitional fair June 22nd
Effort is increasing in trauma response
Other Business
- Policies and procedures are not the most efficient (Jae Jin)
- Inquired as to who has the power to change/review policy (Jae Jin)
- Concerns about facilities continue as do the number of allegations- thanked Tonya for her participation at the meeting to answer questions and provide information (Saul)
- What is being done to prevent the cultural behavior? (Shirley)

- Charles attended a meeting with Gov. Pritzker and the directors of both facilities and agencies (Charles)
- Cameras do not record audio just provide video (Charles)
