IN OBSERVANCE OF MEMORIAL DAY - MAY 26, 2025

This Memorial Day, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) honors the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We also recognize and thank individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) who have served, supported, or been part of military families. Your dedication and contributions are deeply valued and will never be forgotten.

REQUEST FOR APPLICATION: STABILIZATION HOMES

DDD is very excited to announce that our Request for Applications (RFA) for providers to provide Stabilization Services has been posted! Review questions and answers submitted for the RFA here: RFA for SH - Q&A As a reminder, there was legislation passed that increased the current capacity of stabilization homes. There are currently 8 short-term stabilization homes. The legislation will add an additional 8 long-term homes and 2 short-term homes. DDD encourages all current CILA providers with expertise in behavioral health supports to consider applying. The deadline for applications will be July 1, 2025.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

IntellectAbility will be holding a training session on HRST, SAMA, and Report options June 4, 2025, at 9:00 am Central Time for Independent Service Coordinator Agencies (ISC), Registered Nurse Trainers (RNT), Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDP), and anyone else responsible for using the Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST). UPCOMING SODC TRANSITION FAIR

The State-Operated Developmental Centers (SODC) continue to host transition fairs for residents and family/guardians to help educate all regarding options for where individuals might want to receive services. Send an email to DHS.DDD.Transformation@Illinois.gov if you're interested in signing up as a vendor at the SODC transition fairs.

The next Transition Fair for Spring 2025 is at Fox Developmental Center - 05/29/2025 (back-up date 06/06/25) from 9am-12pm Central Time.

OTHER RESOURCES

Access Living: Knowledge is Power (KIP) Series - KIP is a community education series developed by the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities (ICDD) and Access Living. The focus of KIP is to talk about how federal government actions affect people with disabilities, and how we can make our concerns known. Come prepared to ask questions. Registration is required. Low Vision Technology Fair is presented by Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP) & Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The central and southern Illinois Low Vision Technology Fair is a free event for individuals who experience any type of vision loss and/or blindness.
