IRC Respite Training Program

Respite Training Program

The Illinois Respite Coalition (IRC) is pleased to offer a comprehensive, self-paced online respite training program.

This no-cost training is designed to support individuals who provide temporary relief to primary caregivers of individuals with disabilities, chronic conditions, or other special needs. It is ideal for both new and experienced respite providers-including family members, volunteers, and direct support professionals.

Each interactive module includes built-in quizzes to reinforce learning, and the training can be accessed 24/7 from any internet-connected device, offering maximum flexibility and convenience. To ensure inclusivity, a fully translated Spanish version of the course is also available. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion.

The IRC Respite Provider Database Registry is LIVE!

After completing the training, individuals, providers, and agencies are invited to join the Illinois Respite Provider Database Registry - a statewide network aimed at improving access to quality respite care across communities. Your participation helps bridge critical service gaps and strengthens support for families and caregivers throughout Illinois. If you are a family member or caregiver seeking respite services, you can also use the Illinois Respite Provider Database Registry to search for available providers in your area. The registry is a valuable tool for identifying qualified respite professionals and support options that fit your specific needs.
