The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is asking licensed substance use disorder treatment organizations to complete the 2025 N SUMHSS.
This annual Survey is sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). It collects data on location, characteristics, and utilization of substance use and mental health treatment facilities throughout the United States and its territories.
- SAMHSA and other federal, state, and local agencies and behavioral health care professionals use the data to identify trends and gaps in our nation's analyses and reports that describe substance use and mental health treatment in the United States.
- Your response is vital to ensuring the Survey represents facilities like yours. Your facility data will be combined with other N-SUMHSS respondent data and made available on SAMHSA's data dissemination website (Data | SAMHSA). You can learn more about the data and their uses on that site.
- By participating in the N SUMHSS, your facility may be eligible to be listed on FindTreatment which may help potential clients you do not currently serve to reach you.
A program representative from every IDHS/SUPR-licensed organization that delivers substance use disorder and mental health services are encouraged to complete the N SUMHSS. The Survey should be completed by a person knowledgeable about your facility's daily operations.
