INTRODUCTION TO RN COMMUNICATION
Hello RN Trainers! Thank you for signing up for the DDD Communications list specifically for RN Trainers: RN Communication. You will be receiving this communication on a monthly basis with a summary of DDD Communications from the previous month that pertain to RN Training or medical services. Since this communication is the first of the year, it will be a bit more comprehensive.
HAPPY NURSES DAY!
Thank you for the extraordinary care, patience, and compassion you bring every day to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your work goes beyond medicine-you provide dignity, advocacy, and support to those who need it most. Your dedication makes a profound difference in their lives and in the hearts of their families and communities. You are truly a hero, and we are deeply grateful for all that you do.

COMPETENCY BASED TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
In response to legislation that changed the requirements of the CBTA process, the DDD is reviewing its current requirements. We have received a lot of very valuable feedback from community providers, Developmental Disability Nurse's Association (DDNA) and the Illinois chapter of the American Nurses Association.
STAT SERVICES
In collaboration with our stakeholders, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) has posted this Specialty Telehealth and Assessment Team (STAT) Final Information Bulletin (IB). Synopsis below.
Pursuant to Public Act 103-0593, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and was approved to add a new service through the Adults with Developmental Disabilities Waiver for individuals receiving residential services through 24 hour and Host Family Center for Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA), Specialized Telehealth and Assessment Team (STAT). The STAT service provides a remote telehealth assessment when the individual's primary care physician is unavailable, designed to coordinate individual's care with local emergency departments, urgent care facilities, primary care physicians, and other healthcare providers to enable real time medical support, consultation, and coordination on physical health issues.
SHARE YOUR IDEAS FOR DDD's FIVE YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN
DDD is working to develop a new five-year Strategic Plan starting in FY26. To develop the Strategic Plan, DDD is asking stakeholders to share your perspectives on where you want DDD services and supports to go in the next five years and how you want DDD to focus policy and funding to get there. To help with this effort, we ask you to:
Complete the Strategic Planning Survey
We are asking ALL stakeholders to complete the below survey. We want to hear from everyone about your top five priorities for the new FY26-30 DDD Five Year Strategic Plan. These priorities should reflect the services and supports you want to see expanded, new initiatives you would like to see developed and areas where you would like to see greater investment as well as where you would like to see DDD prioritize its efforts. Below is the survey in English and Spanish.
Please share with your networks. Send any questions about the Strategic Planning process to DHS.DDDComments@illinois.gov.
