Virtual CRSS/CPRS Orientation March 19, 2025

We welcome you to join us on March 19, 2025, for our next CRSS/CPRS Orientation. These sessions provide basic information on the roles of Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) and a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPRS). It includes an overview of the certification process and CRSS/CPRS ethics.

The training is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about becoming a CRSS/CPRS as well as those who are currently working towards their certification or renewal. We also encourage supervisors of CRSS/CPRS positions to attend to better understand the CRSS/CPRS role and certification process.

ABOUT THIS CRSS/CPRS ORIENTATION TRAINING

OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the definitions of recovery used by the CRSS and CPRS credentials.
  2. Explain the requirements of earning & maintaining the CRSS/CPRS credentials.
  3. Identify resources available to support individuals seeking to earn or renew their CRSS or CPRS credential.

About CRSS/CPRS Orientation:

This orientation was developed in response to needs expressed in training evaluation feedback from attendees of other sessions offered by our Wellness & Recovery Services Team. We hope that participants in this session will also fill out our evaluation survey after attending, so that we can continue to improve all trainings offered by our team.

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs): Two (2) CEUs have been applied for through the Illinois Certification Board.
