JOIN DDD IN CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Each February, National Black History Month, provides an opportunity to celebrate Black Americans from the past and present day, lauding their contributions and triumphs -- often accomplished in the face of adversity and at great personal cost. We at Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) celebrate and appreciate Black political, religious, artistic, and other leaders who have made indelible marks on history, AND the thousands upon thousands who we may not hear about, but who contributed to the social, artistic, and policy changes that impact and shape all American culture and policy today.

Black History Month is critical to understanding our progress-and how far we still need to go -- as a nation. We recommit ourselves to celebrating and effectuating positive change to making Illinois and the nation a better place for Black Americans and, consequently, a better place for all.

FY26 NOFO POSTING DELAYED

Last week, DDD communicated we would be posting 3 Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) on FEBRUARY 3, 2025. Due to circumstances outside of our control, we must delay the posting of these NOFOs. We intend to post the NOFOs by the end of February and will communicate when the NOFOs will be posted. We apologize for the confusion this may have caused and appreciate your patience as we work to get the NOFOs posted. If you have questions, please contact DHS.DDDGrantProg@illinois.gov.

The NOFOs being delayed include:

  • Dignity in Pay Program
  • Family Advocate Program
  • Latino Outreach Program

ILLINOIS MEDICAID PROGRAM: PROVIDER REVALIDATIONS

In accordance with Federal Regulation 42 CFR 455.414, all Medicaid providers are required to periodically revalidate their enrollment information. DDD IMPACT Provider revalidations will continue to occur through 2025. Providers requiring revalidation will receive e-mail notifications prior to the assigned due date. DDD Providers are encouraged to e-mail DHS.DDDMedProv@illinois.gov following the completion of the revalidation process for modification approval. Revalidation FAQs and detailed instructions can be found here: Provider Revalidation.

DE-ESCALATION TRAINING REIMBURSEMENT

Based on feedback given from community partners, we have updated the De-Escalation Training Reimbursement. DDD has decreased the minimum required number of hours for both the initial training of frontline staff, and the renewing/retraining of frontline staff. Current requirements and reimbursements are as follows:

  • 8 hours of training for frontline staff with a reimbursement of $275 per staff (decreased from 12 hours)
  • 5 hours of continuing education for renewing/retraining of frontline staff with a reimbursement of $175 per staff (decreased from 7 hours)

This takes effect for all trainings that happen on or after 2/5/2025. Trainings that happened before 2/5/2025 will require the initial training amounts. Any trainings that happen after 2/5/2025 must be submitted on the updated De-Escalation Training Reimbursement Form. This form is undergoing revisions and should be finalized in a few weeks. Until that form is finalized, providers must wait to seek reimbursement for de-escalation training. Once the form is finalized, providers can seek reimbursement for trainings that happened after 2/5/2025. For questions, please reach out to DHS.ClinicalServices@illinois.gov.
