Intake Processing
When an applicant misses their scheduled eligibility interview, a Notice of Missed Interview (Form 267L) is centrally sent. Form 267L tells the applicant that they missed their scheduled interview, and if they want to receive SNAP they must contact the local office to schedule another interview. If the applicant does not request another interview, the application is centrally denied by the system on the 30th day following the date of application.
The central mailing of Form 267L and central denial are based on the 3-position code--letter A-L based on the month and the 2-digit interview date--entered in the Caseload/Interview Indicator (Item 5). For example, a March 10th interview is shown as caseload/interview indicator C10.
For SNAP only applications processed in IES, the following central actions occur the first workday after an applicant misses their scheduled eligibility interview a Notice of Missed Interview (Form 267L) is centrally sent, unless the caseload/interview indicator is changed. If the SNAP application is still pending on the 30th day, and the caseload/interview indicator shows a past interview date, the application is centrally denied using TA 05/TAR 03. Notice of Decision on SNAP Application - Missed Interview (Form 360R) is centrally sent.
Example: Ms. D filed an SNAP application on 03/03. An interview was scheduled for 03/10. The caseload/interview indicator is set as C10 (March 10th). Ms. D failed the 03/10 interview so the caseload/interview indicator was not changed. On 03/11, Form 267L is centrally sent to Ms. D, advising her of the missed interview.
If Ms. D does not request another interview, the application is centrally denied on 04/02 using TA 05/TAR 03.
If an applicant requests another interview, enter the new caseload/interview indicator that corresponds to the new interview date in IES. If the applicant misses that interview, another Form 267L is not sent. The application is centrally denied on the 30th day.
For Cash/SNAP and Medical/SNAP applications, the SNAP application will be centrally denied on the 30th day if the Caseload/Interview Indicator still shows the interview date. Withdraw the case in IES per WAG 02-06-01-c If the indicator was changed to a regular caseload number, the Family Community Resource Center must deny the application on the 30th day.
Service Coordination Processing
For initial SNAP applications taken in Service Coordination, if an SNAP applicant misses a scheduled eligibility interview, the Family Community Resource Center:
- Sends Form 267L the first workday after the missed interview. Do not immediately deny an initial application for failed appointment.
- Set a control to deny the application using TA 05/TAR 03 on the 30th day after the date of application. If the 30th day is a non-workday, deny the application on the next workday.
If the applicant requests another interview, schedule a new interview. If the applicant misses that interview, do not send another Form 267L. Deny the case on the 30th day.
