Application Guidance - Section 2 Annual Sales Information

The sales information you provide in this section determines whether eligibility criteria are met.

If your store has been operating for a year or more, you must provide the annual sales amounts for the most recent 12-month period in each category listed.

If your store has yet to operate for a year, you are expected to estimate your annual sales.

Annual (SNAP) Eligible Sales

This number reflects the total revenue from food eligible for purchase with a SNAP (Link) card. This does not mean the amount of SNAP sales you have made.

Examples of SNAP-eligible foods include but are not limited to fruits and vegetables; meat, poultry, and fish; dairy products; bread and cereals; snack foods; non-alcoholic beverages; and seeds and plants, which produce food for the household.

Annual non-SNAP Eligible Food Sales

This number reflects the total revenue from food sales that are not eligible for purchase with SNAP cards.

Examples of non-SNAP-eligible foods include but are not limited to, hot foods at the point of sale, supplements, or food or beverages sold for on-premises consumption.

Annual Alcohol Sales

This number reflects the total revenue from alcohol sales.

Examples of alcohol sales include but are not limited to beer, wine, and liquor.

If you do not sell alcohol, this number should be zero.

Annual Tobacco Sales

This number reflects the total revenue from tobacco sales.

Examples of tobacco sales include but are not limited to cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, or other tobacco products.

If you do not sell tobacco products, this number should be zero.

Annual Other Non-Food Sales

This number reflects the total revenue from sales not included in previous categories.

Examples of non-food sales include but are not limited to, pet foods, cleaning supplies, household wares, toiletries, or over-the-counter medications.

Annual Gross Sales

This sum of all sales numbers will auto-calculate based on the information provided in the previous fields.

Do or will annual WIC sales comprise 50% or more of your business's yearly food sales?

This question asks if the anticipated, estimated total of your annual WIC Sales will be more than half of the sum of your SNAP-eligible yearly sales and non-SNAP-eligible food Sales.

If you respond yes to this question, your application will be denied for failure to meet eligibility criteria, and you will not be able to apply for authorization as a WIC Vendor again for at least 180 days from the date of denial.

Estimated Annual WIC Sales

This number is to be an estimate of what you anticipate your annual WIC Sales to be.

Suppose this is more than 50% of your annual food sales. In that case, your application will be denied for failure to meet eligibility criteria, and you will not be able to apply for authorization as a WIC Vendor again for at least 180 days from the date of denial.
