Our Healing Illinois Project at The LIAM Foundation, focuses on creative artistic activities that promote racial healing through storytelling and discussion. Our programming aims to create a safe and creative space for community members to gather, fostering artistic expression through open mic performances. We are dedicated to prioritizing performances by people of color, encouraging them to address racial issues through their art.

Our initiative seeks to build awareness and drive narrative change around racial healing and justice work, empowering and engaging residents most impacted by systemic racism. Historically, our organization has been primarily led by white individuals, but we are committed to shifting our focus to elevate and center the voices of our non-white community members.

We are especially committed to sharing the stories and experiences of transgender people of color, ensuring their inclusion both within our organization and the broader community.

Join us in this important work as we strive to create a more inclusive and equitable community for all.
