March 1st Disability Day of Mourning

CREST Illinois and their Responding to People with Disabilities and Older Adults committee is spreading the word about the upcoming Disability Day of Mourning on March 1st . This important day honors people with disabilities who have been killed by family members, partners, and caregivers. CREST Illinois invites you to light a candle on March 1st to honor, remember, and mourn those individuals with disabilities who have been lost.

CREST Illinois is a project coordinated with the Illinois Family Violence Coordinating Council (IFVCC) to improve the criminal justice system response to domestic violence in communities across Illinois by promoting policy and procedural change, coordinated community response, and cross-training in order to encourage victim safety and offender accountability. CREST Illinois is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice- Office of Violence Against Women.
