Provider Update - Community Behavioral Health Care Professional Loan Repayment Program

Dear Providers,

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (isac.org) has partnered with DMH in the administration of the new

Community Behavioral Health Care Professional Loan Repayment Program. ISAC has been accepting applications for this program since August, 2022 and has begun the process of making awards to eligible applicants. It has been exciting to provide this support to behavioral health professionals working in the field.

At this time, ISAC has asked us to reach out to the provider network to get assistance in communicating with facility representatives to advance the employment certification process for some of the loan repayment applicants. To be considered for an award, and applicant completes an online application and their employer certifies their employment using ISAC's online program called GAP Access. Please note that it is possible that you do not have an applicant working at your facility, in which case, you would have received no communication from them and you can disregard this email. Many facilities that do have an applicant have certified employment - thank you and you can also disregard this email.

ISAC has a list of approximately 50 facilities that need to complete this process and has sent several emails to the contact person listed on DMH and SUPR lists. They recognize that there has been a lot of transition in the field, and/or facilities might not be aware of ISAC and why they are attempting to reach out for information, so we are helping to share this message. If you have questions, are not certain if you need to certify an applicant or need further assistance from ISAC, please contact the following:

ISAC is working to process and make awards to all eligible applicants by the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2023) so a prompt response will help meet that goal.
