QUICK NOTES
- In a previous Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) Communication, there was an error with the link for the Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) training that is being held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. That link was been fixed in a prior communication.
DHS: DAY PROGRAM RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION PROGRAM REMINDER AND EXTENSION
As a reminder, DDD (March 11, 2024, DDD Communication) announced the distribution of grant funding to day program providers in the Adults with Developmental Disabilities Waiver (Community Day Services and Supported Employment Program) and in Immediate Care Facilities (Developmental Training). The deadline for submitting the budget, through the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) portal, has been extended from Wednesday, May 15, 2024, to Friday, May 17, 2024. Eligible providers are required to submit their budget by this Friday in order to be approved for reimbursement for eligible FY24 grant expenses.
As was previously mentioned, the funding for this program was included in the Governor's FY25 proposed budget. Should it be included in the budget that ultimately gets passed by the General Assembly and signed by the Governor, DDD would like to understand if there are providers who will utilize the funding for FY25 expenses. Please email DDD at DHS.DDDComments@illinois.gov if eligible grantees would utilize available program funding in FY25 if it is available.
CHICAGO METRO REGION REBILLING FOR TIER 2 PAYMENTS
DDD is pleased to announce the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) staff have successfully completed programming to allow the payment for Chicago Metro regionalized rates for Day Programs. Providers who have previously rebilled with Site IDs for 31C (Community Day Services-Off Site) and 31U (Community Day Services-On Site) should check for MOBIUS Remittance Reports dated May 9 or 10, 2024. Chicago Metro providers may resume rebilling for all regionalized bill codes with the required Site IDs to receive payment for the Chicago Metro regionalized rate, also known as Tier 2, difference for all previously billed services under the bill codes: 31C, 31U, 31V, 32G, 33G, 34G, 34U, 36G, 36U, 37U, 39U, 53D, 53R and 53S.
DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) CURRICULUM UPDATE
DDD is expecting to publish the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the updated, statewide DSP curriculum within the next few months. Due to this upcoming change, DDD will not be reviewing any new curriculum or curriculum revisions, either from vendors or provider agencies. Please watch future DDD communications for additional details.
HEALTH CARE WORKER REGISTRY (HCWR) EXPECTATIONS
As it relates to the HCWR, every provider agency is required to have a Portal Registration Authority (PRA) identified. The PRA is the main contact between the agency and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). This person conducts all required background checks, registers all new employees, and completes annual requirements associated with the HCWR. Due to the importance of this role, it is suggested that every provider have two PRAs to ensure the agency is not negatively impacted by a change with their PRA. Currently, IDPH reports that it takes three to four months to transfer PRA to a new person. If a provider loses their PRA access, they will not be able to conduct the required background checks. For additional information, please see FAQ's available on the IDPH website.
UPDATED ADDRESSES AND SITE IDs
If a provider agency uses the current (6.17 as of this DDD Communication) Department of Human Services (DHS) ROCS version, the agency can now upload newly added addresses to ROCS by going to the following webpage: IDHS: Software & Installation Instructions (illinois.gov).
