WAG 15-04-03: Income (AABD)

PM 15-04-03.

Verify income at application, reapplication, at each REDE, and whenever information indicates income has changed.

Example 1: Mr. A receives Social Security of $659.30 per month. His gross countable income for Medical is $659.

Example 2: Mr. C receives AABD(D) Medical. He provides the following paystubs:

In determining Mr. C's gross income, add $14, $14, $26 and $19 for a total of $73.

His recognized expenses of employment are:

Federal Tax: $1 + 1 + 2 + 1 = $5
State Tax: $0
FICA $1 + 1 = $2
TOTAL $7

His $20 plus 1/2 of the next $60 earnings disregard is calculated as follows:

$73 - 20 = $53
$53 ÷ 2 = 26.50 (drop the 50¢)
$20 + 26 = $46 earnings disregard

Example 3: Ms. F. receives workers' compensation of $237.50 every 2 weeks.

Her average bi-weekly income is $237 (drop the 50¢). Her countable gross income per month is $509 ($237 X 2.15 = $509.55. Drop the 55¢).

Example 4: Mr. E provides the following paystubs for March:

Mr. E's average weekly income is $142 ($714 ÷ 5 = 142.80. Drop the 80¢). His countable gross income is $610 ($142 X 4.3 = $610.60. Drop the 60¢).
