      1. The Committee welcomed new member Mark Sanders.
  5. Discussion of Grant Administration and Management with Gary Kramer, Chief Accountability Officer, Office of Contracts Administration and José Ponce, Director of Grants Administration
    1. Jodi Martin shared some feedback on challenges her organization has experienced with grant management and technical support.
    2. Gary Kramer offered to support Jodi offline, and offered to share her feedback with program teams. Gary will share links to technical assistance resources, including a self-paced training called "Recipe for Grant Success." https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=153914
    3. Mary Camper asked if pre-recorded trainings are available across all departments
      1. Gary: I agree that there is a need for standardized training across Illinois, and I raise this often internally. We are working on coordinating efforts across agencies for all aspects of grant administration and management.
    4. Mary Camper asked how grantees can know if they are performing to DHS standards
      1. DHS grant program managers should be a resource to grantees and should ensure that they all go through training.
      2. Gary Kramer encouraged grantees to share their experiences with DHS staff and their feedback that they need more support.
    5. Jose Ponce shared the link to the DHS Grants Administration Home Page https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=85526
      1. Jose screen shared and walked through several resources on the website.
    6. Jodi Martin asked what to do when a crisis happens, such as a new program manager (on the grantee side). Can I get someone in person to come visit and help?
