DDD Communication - May 3, 2024

QUICK NOTES

  • On March 11, 2024, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) announced the distribution of grant funding to day program providers in the Adults with Developmental Disabilities Waiver (Community Day Services and Supported Employment Program) and in Intermediate Care Facilities (Developmental Training). As a reminder, eligible provider agencies have received emails from the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) portal and should be working to submit their proposed budgets for approval. If an agency has questions, please reach out to DDD at DHS.DDDComments@illinois.gov.
  • All FY24 DDD SEP Revalidation requests are due to DDD by the end of business today, Friday, May 3, 2024. Please review the DDD SEP FY24 Revalidation Guidelines Update for additional information.
  • DDD is excited to share the creation of a Respite Services webpage on the DHS website. This page provides information on the Respite grants DDD funds, the current grantees receiving the grants, and contact information for each.
  • DDD is interested in learning what de-escalation training community providers use. If you have not already done so, please send this information to the Bureau of Clinical Services at: DHS.clinicalservices@illinois.gov.

ICAP REMINDER

All Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) provider agencies wishing to update ICAP scores for individuals being served in their CILA program should submit their updated ICAPs to their Independent Service Coordination (ISC) agency or agencies by June 1, 2024. As a reminder, on March 8, 2024, DDD issued a communication (DDD Communication - ICAP Update) to lay out a process for updating any out of date ICAP scores. DDD followed the March 8 communication by sending all CILA provider agencies a list of CILA participants and ICAP scores as provided by the ISC agencies. Once those scores were received, CILA provider agencies were encouraged to compare the scores provided by DDD via the ISC agencies and the scores they themselves have on file. After that, provider agencies and ISC agencies should work together to update any outdated or incorrect ICAP scores. The ISC agencies will then submit all ICAPs back to DDD by June 15, 2024, and those ICAP scores will be used in the implementation of the CILA rate calculator effective July 1, 2024.

DDD SITE ID EMAIL ADDRESS

DDD has created a new email address: DHS.DDD.SITEID@illinois,gov. Effective immediately, all DDD Site ID requests should be sent to this address. In addition, the DDD Site ID form has also been updated to reflect this email address only. NOTE: The form must be saved locally in order to properly open and use it. As a reminder, the Site ID form should be used for the creation of new DDD sites and the deletion of no longer used sites. All updates to DDD CILA location information should still be handled through the existing turnaround form process. Update requests for items such as working capacity changes or agency control status, etc., that come in via Site ID forms, will be returned with instruction to send a turnaround form.

UPCOMING HEALTH RISK SCREENING TOOL (HRST) TRAINING

As is required by Rule, all individuals receiving residential waiver funding are required to have an HRST screen. To assist providers in being compliant with this requirement, IntellectAbility will be providing a training on how to run various reports, in the web-based platform. This includes how to determine who needs a screen, who needs a clinical review, and who has gone more than 365 days without an update. Additionally, IntellectAbility will be discussing the web-based platform of the Self-Administration of Medication Assessment (SAMA) which is free for all Illinois providers. The training will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00p.m. IntellectAbility (Training on HRST, SAMA and Report options)
