State Updates (Christina Smith)

  • The state continues to be in discussion regarding the CESSA legislation. There are plans to file a bill to extend the CESSA deadline before the Feb 9 bill deadline.
  • We continue to work toward planning for the upcoming in-person SAC meeting on Feb 13 from 10a-12p. Village of Glenview Village Hall - 2500 East Lake Ave Glenview, IL 60026
    • There will be an option for SAC members to tour the 911 call center after the meeting.
    • Mike Thompson will be in attendance to do visioning work.

Updates on Protocol Vendors (Cindy)

  • The question review team met earlier this week to go over 6-7 PowerPhone protocols that we've identified as those that we want to tie into the IRLM.
    • We've had lively discussion, made a few adjustments here and there. Dr. smith is doing additional work that will ensure the language used in protocols is consistent with the IRLM.
    • Meeting on 2/7 with PowerPhone to introduce them to our changes.
  • Implementation pilot sites haven't quiet been fully identified yet. However, we will be working with pilot PSAP and EMS directors for review and their approval on changes.
    • We will then share updates on PowerPhone progress with RAC co-chairs so they can incorporate this info into their project plans
  • Priority Dispatch Updates
    • Lorrie: Priority Dispatch provided a number of questions asking for a lot of definitions and how we plan to use certain terms. We are currently in the process of defining terms, looking to use more basic terms instead of using psychiatric terminology.
  • There are around 6-7 PSAPs in the state that don't use PowerPhone, Priority, or APCO, they've worked with their resource hospital to develop their own protocols. We soon plan to begin meeting with independents to get an understanding of their systems.
